During a trip to Italy, we visited Tuscany to explore wine country and experience the free, naturally heated Saturnia Thermal Baths. The milky white pools, warmed by volcanic activity, offer a unique experience. It's best to visit early in the morning for a more intimate experience, and bring water shoes, sunscreen, and a waterproof bag for valuables.
During our recent trip to Dublin, we found the Morrison Dublin to be an ideal luxury stay near the lively pub scene. The check-in process was smooth, and our well-lit, spacious room greeted us with chocolates and a heartfelt note. The hotel's modern decor, complimentary amenities, and convenient location by the River Liffey made our stay delightful.
In Lisbon, we explored the city's beauty and attractions, visiting the Botanical Garden, the National Museum of Natural History and Science, and notable landmarks like the Rua Augusta Arch and Praça do Comércio. The city's walkability allowed us to immerse ourselves in its charm.
The Altis Grand Hotel in Lisbon provided easy access to many sights, but some were too far to reach on foot. Opting for a Tuk Tuk tour, the driver customised an itinerary, taking them to landmarks like the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. A Tuk Tuk proved ideal for a strategic, time-efficient tour of the city.
During our stay in Lisbon, we chose the Altis Grand Hotel for its central location and luxury amenities. The efficient check-in process allowed us to quickly rest in our comfortable deluxe room. Amenities included a well-equipped bathroom, a small terrace, and a range of modern conveniences. However, the weak WiFi was a drawback. The hotel's rooftop Garden Roof Bar offered stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere with a resident DJ.
During a trip to Lisbon, we booked a private tour to explore the Setúbal wine region. Starting at the Mercado do Livramento, we enjoyed the market and coastal scenery before visiting Quinta da Bacalhôa and José Maria de Fonseca for wine tastings. The crowded tours were the only downside to an otherwise enjoyable trip.
When visiting Portugal, a day trip to Sintra is a must. Starting from Lisbon, the journey includes a visit to Pena Palace, known for its vibrant colors and historical significance, and the beautiful Quinta da Regaleira. The trip also covers exploring Sintra, with its charming restaurants and gardens, and ends with a stop in the seaside resort of Cascais.
